One day at Majestic Redwoods

This is one of my quick drive through trip and this time it was at the Redwoods 🙂

Tall, Green and larger than life redwood trees are the inhabitants of magnificent Redwood National and State Park. A day is definitely not enough to explore the entire region however it’s better than not visiting this beautiful place at all.

Avenue Of the Giants

Just driving through the Avenue of The Giants is itself mesmerizing and on the way I made couple of safe stop to admire the handsome and tall Redwoods.

There are couple of drive through trees and I happen to drive through one of the paid one with entry fee of $6. Check out the video here.

I had dedicated a day to redwoods and thus chose to do these two short and easy hikes while driving through the giants.

Founders Grove Hike

This is a very easy trail of just 0.5 miles in Humboldt State Park. It has amazing scenery, well maintained trails, very informative for kids and adults, just the right place to be with the giant Redwoods. The fallen trees and their root architecture is phenomenal.

*The car park and bathrooms are available.

Drury Chaney Trail

The trail length is 2.4 miles which can be considered as easy. This loop has fairly big Redwood trees along with Redwood sorrel covering the ground.

The entire trail is green and lush however after a mile or so you can hear the noises from US 101 highway. The trail as such is beautiful and worth the short walk.

*Pullout parking is available but no Bathrooms.

Fern Canyon

After the hikes we headed towards Fern Canyon, Canyons are in itself majestic and here we get to experience Ferns all over on the beautiful Canyons. Absolutely stunning.

I drove straight to the parking lot of fern Canyon and then headed to the fern canyon trail from the beach side. The moment I entered the Canyon and the view what I was having in front of me was fabulous and eye soothing 🙂 I did a short walk in & out and clicked couple of pictures in this wonderful trail .

*Since it was a July 4th weekend so the place was heavily trafficked.

*The car park and bathrooms are available.

If you happen to be visiting in San Francisco Bay Area then a day is worth reserving for Avenue of the Giants and its surroundings.

Make the memories 🙂

Cheers!
