A walk from Fisherman’s wharf to Golden gate bridge

It’s been my privilege that I have been to Golden Gate Bridge several times. However I always wished to experience its beauty from  the bottom shore line in a clear sunny day. Finally the day has arrived when I am in California in bright sunny summary weather. I started early from Santa Clara and reached San Francisco at around 8:30 AM to have an adventurous bike ride from Fisherman’s Wharf to Golden Gate Bridge. While I was walking down the streets to rent a bike, I changed my plan and instead decided to walk to my final destination.

Route from Fisherman’s Wharf to Golden Gate Bridge

It was a beautiful morning and how could I not stop for a wonderful breakfast at Fisherman’s Wharf.

Neighborhood of Fisherman’s Wharf

Fisherman’s wharf and its neighborhood is one of the most happening area for seafood restaurants. Among-st all what I was looking for is clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl. Pure Yumm!!

Quick Bite

After a quick breakfast we happened to scanned the near by ferry dock, there is a tour to submarine artifacts from WW II, A steam Engine and a submarine. The entry fee to get inside the submarine is $20 per adult.

I figured out the best way to grasp the the city’s charm and culture is to walk down its streets. They say East is East West is San Francisco and it’s precisely true. The city offers way too much than one can conceive.  The zig-zag and up-downs of streets, fantastic art on exterior of the houses like the one below makes the city more vivid and interesting.

The trams, the cable cars and the hop on hop off buses were all touristy and everybody seems to be enjoying.

Once I was done walking the streets between houses and shops, I found myself at Crissy Field and I could see the Golden gate bridge. I was blessed to finally have a clear view of the bridge with no fog and mist. 😀 Thus best time to visit San Francisco is summer (Aug-September).

After Crissy field we move closer and closer to the golden gate bridge trail. The bridge looks beautiful from East Beach and the beauty increases as you walk further to Marine Drive.

The mighty Orange bridge looks great from any point that you are on the trail and what you need to do is sit back and enjoy the serene picturesque  view of the bridge, pacific, hills and city towers 🙂

Finally, I could touch the Golden Gate Bridge, the feeling to be at one of the world’s wonder is unbeatable. Walking the Bridge was in my Travel Goals from long and I am glad to strike down.

From the right of the Bridge you could view the beauty of SF city towers and Pacific at its best.

In my opinion, SF is the most lively city that I have been to so far with nature and man made wonders. Isn’t it an awesome mixture of nature and city life?

That’s how I could capture Golden Gate Bridge and its surroundings during my short walk using Iphone.

Make the memories 🙂

Cheers!
